Progression in Agartha Mog or Die has two different rhythms. A run grows through four map pickups: Milk for Height, Hammers for Face, Picture Frames for Frame, and Water for lower Bodyfat. Longer-term strength comes from systems such as permanent pickup-gain upgrades, Captured Moggers, ability rolls, and Prestige/ASCEND. The safest plan is to keep the run balanced while moving MogPoints into benefits the current menu explicitly says are saved.
The progression loop at a glance
1. Read all four stats
Use MY STATS to find the comparison that is behind. Learn the direction and official pickup for each value.
Foundation2. Improve the route
Collect a balanced circuit, time progress boosts, use movement aids, and keep passive MogPoints working.
Run speed3. Bank permanent power
Compare the MOGSCORE SHOP's saved EXP-gain upgrades with random or run-sensitive spending.
Protection4. ASCEND deliberately
Read the RANKS preview, prepare a rebuild, and reset only when the long-term return justifies the loss.
Long cycleBuild a four-stat baseline
The developer says Mog Battles compare Face, Frame, Height, and Bodyfat. It does not publish a weighted formula or guarantee that one outstanding stat can cover a weak one. Current community walkthroughs show separate result calls for the four qualities, which makes balanced growth the conservative choice.
Open MY STATS before each serious battle. If Height trails, collect Milk. If Face trails, collect Hammers. If Frame trails, collect Picture Frames. If Bodyfat is the problem, collect Water to lower it. Do not compare Bodyfat by the same “higher is better” rule used for the other three.
A route is successful when it improves the actual weak comparison, not when it visits the most pickups. Recheck after each circuit and shorten the next loop toward the lagging item. The Stats Guide provides a responsive lookup for all four mappings and explains why there is no defensible stat tier list yet.
Make each collection circuit count
Start near a known safe point, identify one pickup of each basic type, and return close enough to reopen menus without standing in the busiest battle area. Public-server spawns can be contested, so switch the order when another player is clearing the same path. A flexible loop is more reliable than waiting at an empty location.
Plan timed boosts before activation. The official codes page listed 30-minute 2× Progress rewards on September 5, 2026. Read your route, clear reward menus, and decide whether you are farming all four stats or fixing one weak comparison. Only then redeem. The public description does not explain how the timer behaves through MOG, ASCEND, death, or rejoin.
Community guides report two collection aids: Magnet as a rolled ability that pulls nearby collectibles, and Rocket Shoes as a temporary map pickup that increases movement. Treat those descriptions as current observations, not guaranteed item pools. When either appears, compare the effect text and use it to widen a known circuit instead of entering an unknown zone.
Turn battles into MogPoints and captures
The official loop awards MogPoints when a winner chooses MOG. Start with manageable NPCs, read all four comparison rows, and avoid a long player risk while carrying a fresh timed boost. SPARE preserves the defeated run; MOG is the progression choice when you intentionally want the stated currency reward.
Current walkthroughs report that MOG can add defeated NPCs to CAPTURED MOGGERS. At the base, Manage and Auto Equip Best are shown assigning captures to earning pads for passive MogPoints. Verify that the balance moves before leaving. A capture that is listed but not assigned may contribute nothing.
Passive earnings reduce the need to spend every minute fighting. Revisit the base between circuits, keep the best supported earners assigned, and separate the capture system from direct battle rewards in your own balance checks. Captured Moggers covers assignment and troubleshooting.
Spend MogPoints by persistence
Community footage shows two major sinks. ROLL ABILITY spends MogPoints on a random ability. The MOGSCORE SHOP buys saved EXP-gain levels for Face, Frame, Height, and Bodyfat pickups. A permanent, clearly described upgrade is easier to value early because it helps rebuild after a loss.
The observed MOGSCORE SHOP says each level adds 10% EXP gain for its stat, caps at level 10, and saves permanently. Community footage showed early price steps of 100, 250, and 500 MogPoints, but prices and wording remain update-sensitive. Read the current tile before every purchase. Do not extrapolate the entire cost curve from the first three values.
Match upgrades to the route bottleneck. If Water opportunities are scarce, improving its Bodyfat progress may matter more than pushing an already strong Height gain. If one stat consistently loses battle comparisons, raise the pickup gain that directly affects it. Permanent Upgrades gives a purchase order that adapts to your actual sheet.
Decide when to Prestige
Recent guides place Prestige in RANKS under the ASCEND button. They report a stat reset followed by easier later growth, but the current public first-party description does not state the requirement, exact bonus, or complete reset list. The live preview is the authority.
Prepare by spending intended permanent upgrades, confirming Captured Moggers are assigned, ending a valuable timed boost, and recording stats, currencies, rolls, Genetics, and inventory. ASCEND when you can rebuild quickly and the shown benefit advances a longer goal. Do not reset merely because ordinary pickup gains feel slow for a few minutes in a crowded server.
A good checkpoint is consistent NPC wins plus a working passive MogPoint loop. Those systems give the next run something to do immediately. The Prestige Guide provides a before-and-after ledger and recovery route.
Early, middle, and later priorities
Early run: learn the four pickup mappings, claim free rewards, and win one low-risk NPC comparison. Spend cautiously until you know what remains after MOG.
Established run: keep four stats balanced, assign Captured Moggers, and buy the permanent pickup-gain levels that fix your slowest comparison. Test an ability only when you can afford a poor roll.
Prestige-ready run: confirm the ASCEND preview, clear short-lived boosts, bank permanent purchases, and choose a time when rebuilding will not waste a session. After reset, test one basic pickup to confirm the promised gain.
Competitive run: check bounties, MOG KING status, crowded routes, and Risk Zones before carrying progress into player traffic. Strong growth is not protection if you accept a comparison with one neglected stat.
Common progression traps
- Treating Height as the whole build because character size is visually obvious.
- Forgetting that improving Bodyfat means lowering it with Water.
- Redeeming a timed reward while still learning the menus.
- Rolling repeatedly before buying any saved pickup-gain levels.
- Leaving captures unassigned while expecting passive MogPoints.
- Pressing ASCEND without reading the current reset and reward preview.
- Copying an old cost curve, drop rate, or “best stat” order after the game changes.
A repeatable 30-minute plan
Spend the first few minutes claiming static rewards and checking MY STATS. Build one unboosted loop and verify its pickups. Assign current captures and buy the planned permanent level. Redeem the timed boost only after those decisions, then repeat the loop while correcting the weak comparison.
Use NPC battles between route passes when the displayed matchup is acceptable. Return captures to the base, confirm passive income, and end by recording the next permanent purchase or ASCEND condition. This routine produces progress even when a rare Golden collectible, Mog Drop, event, or boss never appears.
Evidence note
The four stats, their pickups, NPC/player battles, MOG/SPARE, and MogPoint reward are official. MY STATS, RANKS/ASCEND, Captured Moggers, Magnet, Rocket Shoes, ROLL ABILITY, and MOGSCORE SHOP details are community reported from current August–September 2026 guides and should be checked against the live UI.
